They do well with keeping your hands dry and the material does not in any way irritant my hands. After a good long search I happen stumble upon Rocket Grips and I have been a big fan since. I have them on all four of my controllers and have only had to swap a pair a once. I wanted something that made my controller comfortable and maybe help with moisture. I started to use them to help endure the intense game play of online shooters but now find them to be a comfortable product no matter what I'm playing. They are placed only where they need to be, unlike full gloves which may cover buttons or shift while you use them.
There was some residue on the old controller but that one took a dump anyway so it didn't matter. My quest started about a year and a half ago for something that helped with long periods of COD4 gaming sessions. I was fond of the standard controller so the off-brand gimmicks/designs did not appeal to me. They are about a millimeter or two thick which works extremely well with me; I always thought the 360 controller was a tad bit too small anyway.
Anyways, the grips are soft and comfy, but they bulk up the controller, just enough, as to make a mans hands not fit right around the controller, making the it hard to work the trigger buttons. I've sent letters heavier then these grips, and to top it off, the supplier failed to offer a tracking number. My husband expained to me, that although his hands did not sweat, they did get really hot. When we found these, we purchased them right away, ignoring the $3.99 shipping, on a $7.00 item. Step up to the plate, make the grips not so large, a little less thick, and either offer a tracking number, or lower your shipping greatly. My logic is, charge me.90 and stick it in a mennella envelope.
All in all, the transaction with Amazon was fine, but the product is not great, and the shipping was too expensive. My husband wanted grips to reduce sweeting and add a secure grip to the controller. When the item arrived, it shocked me, at how light they were, and at the fact, that I just got ripped off on the shipping. My hands fit fine, but I did not play any games.
I can't imagine gaming without these. I have ordered two sets and will be getting more.
I tried to connect my chatpad onto the controller after placing the grips EXACTLY where they are on the pictured instructions and they were about 1/4 of an inch in the way and I could not connect it. This is a good product for a secondary controller or if you do not have a chatpad. Eventually I took the grips off and spent about 30-45 minutes cleaning the sticky residue off the controller that the grips left behind. If you have one controller and a chatpad THIS IS NOT for you.Besides the interference it was a decent product, not to say I would ever purchase one again though.
Considering I paid over $10 for some tiny sticky pieces of rubber, I can say that I am very disappointed in this product.PROS: - While it stays on, it does help you grip the controller betterCONS: - Overpriced, for what you get - Glue doesn't stick for very long - Glue DOES stay on the CONTROLLER and isn't easy to clean-off if you should decide to stop using the grips. What you get is two small pieces of texturized rubber that have a peel-off, sticky backing. The first thing I thought when I opened the envelope these came in was "You have GOT to be kidding me.I paid for *this*."That being said, I received exactly what was described. The pictures may be a bit misleading, though. They fit where they are supposed to fit on the controller; but, like others have said, the glue fails in a very short time.
